Good-bye: It is with great sadness that we must say good-bye to Kathryn Reno. Kathryn is moving back to her home state of Vermont. We will miss you and will have fond memories of your time in our classroom. Good luck in your new school and keep in touch!

OUR STAR OF THE WEEK IS:

Here is what we are doing in the subject areas for the week of February 20-24.

Our Star of the Week for this week is:
DOL: Every day students will be given a D.O.L assignment. These are done and graded in class.

Spelling: We will not be having a spelling test this week. We will continue learning about prefixes and suffixes.

Reading: This week we are ISAT preparation. We will also learn to use text proofs and interpret text to help us prepare for ISAT testing.

English: Our unit in English is adjectives.

SocialStudies: Our unit in Social Studies is Chapter
9: Making Choices. The Chapter 9 test is on Tuesday, February 21. A "what to study for the test" was sent home today.

Science: Chapter 9 : The Water Cycle .

Miss Conley's Math class: The Chapter 14 test is on Tuesday, February 21. This week we will also focus on divide by 3. The mad minute test for divide by 3 will be on Friday, February 24. Students should practice division facts every night.

Miscelaneous:

Valentine's Day: Thank you to the wonderful parents who made our Valentine's Day party. Thank you to Mrs. Del Granado for providing the pizza and Mrs. Fellers for sending in food. Thanks also to Mrs. Yacoub and Mr. Marrs for organizing and running the games. Also Mrs. Jotautas for sending in drinks and helping out during the party. Finally, thank you to Mrs. Sostak for coordinating our Valentine's and our Halloween parties. We had great parties this year thanks to all of you!!

Parents: Please make sure you read your emails and this blog :)
Please send snow pants, boots, etc. with your child's name on them. Also, remember to send gym shoes, too.

Please put your child's name on items that come to school, including clothing.
When sending money to school, please put it in an envelop with your child's name on it.
I appreciate all of your help!

Music: Practice your recorder 30 minutes every night.

Sending money to school: Please send any money to school in an envelope (or a ziplock) with the students, name, grade, class, and amount written down. This includes lunch account and field trip money.
Please continue to top up your lunch accounts on Mondays.
